With a post on social media, Jon Jones indicates a possible duel against Stipe Miocic in the heavyweight division

Former champion suggested a duel between 'the greatest heavyweight of all time and the greatest light heavyweight of all time'

The recent injury to Francis Ngannou, who will be out for the rest of the year after defending the heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg) against Cyryl Gane No. UFC 270, left the division's doors open for the creation of a new interim title. After Daniel Cormier suggest that Jon Jones e Stipe Miocic should fight for the belt, “Bones” gave indications that the duel could really get off the ground.

This Friday (04), through a post on its official Twitter page, Jon Jones fueled the rumors. Without mentioning names, the former light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg) suggested a duel between “the greatest heavyweight of all time and the greatest light heavyweight of all time”.

“The greatest heavyweight of all time against the greatest light heavyweight of all time. Who wants to see? I’m in,” Jones wrote.

Jon Jones e Stipe Miocic they hold the record for title defenses in their respective divisions. While Jones defended the light heavyweight title 11 times, Stipe Miocic defended the heavyweight on four occasions.

Without acting since his last title defense, in February 2020, Jon Jones he relinquished the light heavyweight title and began the transition to the heavyweight division. Stipe Miocic, on the other hand, has not seen action since March 2021, when he was dethroned by Francis Ngannou.
