Outside the UFC after around 15 years of service Jeremy Stephens He didn't leave his old home very happy. In an interview with 'MMA Fighting', the American said that he chose to change organization because he only fought once a year and stated that he felt discredited by the company.

“I asked the UFC to give me a favorable matchup. I have been fighting beasts, fighting assassins for two decades and I felt like I was getting 'frozen'. Just fighting once a year is not good for the bank account. I'm just trying to provide for my family and the only way I can do that is to fight and they weren't really fighting with me,” Stephens said.

Stephens revealed that he just wanted to stay more active in the octagon and said he didn't feel prestigious by the organization.

“I’m just like any normal human being. I just want an opportunity to go to work, earn my salary. I felt like I deserved it. I deserve this right. I always did my best. I did everything for this company and I don’t feel like they reciprocated,” concluded the American.

At 35 years old, Stephens has more than 40 professional fights in his career and has recorded 28 wins and 19 losses. Despite his longevity as an athlete, the North American is not in a good phase and has a sad record of five setbacks in his last fights.
