After his contract with UFC expired, Stephens signs with PFL and aims for a trilogy against Pettis

Veteran celebrates agreement with his 'new home' and promises aggressive duel against Anthony, if the fight is scheduled

After having his contract terminated with the UFC, Jeremy Stephens You've already arranged your new 'home'. In an interview with 'The MMA Hour', the veteran stated that he signed a contract to compete in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg.) of the Professional Fighters League (PFL).

“It’s a great organization, with good fighters and potential. They're going to pay me more than the UFC and I have the chance to get $1 million (about R$5,2 million) and I really love the fact that they fight every month. I’m not that young anymore and I like to stay active,” said Stephens.

For the future in the organization, Jeremy declared his interest in facing an 'old acquaintance'. According to the North American, he would like to measure forces against Anthony Pettis to try to avenge the two defeats suffered in Ultimate.

“He’s getting paid well, so I’d love to face him. I turned him into a fighter and he just wanted to fight me. We were in different periods and I believe it could bring more violence to a new fight. I’ll be in better shape than that kid,” concluded the veteran.

Stephens, 35, competed for 15 years in the UFC and left the company after a run of six fights without winning – five losses and one fight without a result. Professional since 2005, the veteran has a record of 47 fights in mixed martial arts. Currently, there are 28 wins, 19 losses and one 'I didn't answer' – fight without result.
