Sonnen revealed the news during last Tuesday's edition of the UFC Tonight program, shown in the United States on the FUEL TV channel. “I'm going back to middleweight after I beat Shogun,” he said. “There are two guys I want to face. The first is Vitor belfort because he is incredible and is in an amazing phase. The second is Wanderlei, as now I found out that she will return to middleweight. The panorama has completely changed. I have a new contract and I'm returning to the lower weight category”, added the controversial fighter.
Still on his renewal, the 36-year-old fighter revealed that he received a Dodge Ram pickup truck from the UFC.
