Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling calls for prison sentences for fighters caught doping

Showing zero tolerance for the use of illegal substances, the 'Funk Master' was in favor of putting anyone who breaks these rules in jail

Current leader of the roosters division, aljamain sterling was in favor of 'zero tolerance' for athletes who are caught doping. In an interview with 'MMA fighting', the 'Funk Master' asked for prison sentences for fighters who are caught for breaking the rules by using medication or illegal substances.

“It bothers me, man, it really bothers me. You should do jail time for using EPO, steroids, or any kind of shit like that in the UFC or combat sports in general. You can literally end someone's career and their livelihood. This is a contact sport, man. This isn't like playing basketball, we're not playing basketball, we're not playing baseball in the crowd, you know what I'm talking about? We are dealing with life-changing events when you enter the Octagon. Those who are stupid will say, 'Well, no one put a gun to your head and told you to do that.' What? How is this a logical return to justify these actions?” Sterling said.

Current bantamweight champion, the 'Funk Master' has been riding on six consecutive Ultimate victories. In his last defeat, in December 2017, the North American was knocked out by the Brazilian Marlon moraes. His next fight will be the long-awaited rematch against Petr yan, UFC 273, scheduled for April 4th.
