O Jungle Fight 55 takes place next Saturday (20), at the General Severiano gym, at Botafogo headquarters. One of the highlights of the card, the candidate for the flyweight belt (up to 57kg) Marcos Vinícius “Cabecinha” was present at the training of the Botafogo professional team this Wednesday morning (17) and exchanged gifts with Júlio Cesar, starting left-back from Alvinegro.
The player, who is a fan of Anderson Silva, Rodrigo Minotauro e junior gypsy, was enthusiastic about the presence of the show at the club's headquarters, told a little about his experiences in martial arts, and made clear his desire to attend the main fight of the event between Robson “New” and Marcos Vinícius Cabecinha.
“I’ve been following MMA for a long time, since the Royce gracie in the UFC. I know everything that happens. Brazil has been growing a lot and events like the Jungle Fight they serve to enhance the sport even more”, said the left-back, who confided that he is not very good at martial arts. “When I was little I tried to try jiu-jitsu, but my strong point was football”, he concluded in a good-humored way.
Despite not having the habit of following football closely, “Cabecinha” confessed to being very happy with the opportunity and was delighted to be able to watch big stars so close.
“Lately I haven’t had much time to follow football closely, but my family is all from Botafogo. It was a great pleasure to have met Júlio Cesar and to have had the opportunity to watch (Clarence) Seedorf up close. I really want to win this belt and make my family even more proud,” he said.
