The year 2021 has already ended, but the achievements of Kamaru Usman have not yet been forgotten. In an interview with 'ESPN', the current Ultimate commentator Daniel Cormier chose the Nigerian as the best fighter of the season that ended and praised the evolution of the welterweight champion (up to 77,1kg).

Champion since 2019, Kamaru Usman stepped into the octagon three times in the 2021 season. In February, the division leader knocked out his former training partner Gilbert Durtinho. In April, another fast track victory, this time in the rematch against Jorge masvidal. On UFC 269 in November, the 'Nigerian Nightmare' won another confrontation against his opponent Colby covington, this time, in the unanimous decision of the judges.
