Brian Stann's career has come to an end. The fighter's decision had been made four months ago, but was only made public this Thursday (11). The “All-American”, as he is known, revealed, in an interview with the North American channel FOX Sports, that the defeat to Wanderlei Silva in March was his last appearance as a professional.

“I said that night. I told my coach I had reached the end. I train very, very hard. I put everything into it for him. But it's been difficult since my brother-in-law's death a few years ago. It's been a real challenge. I couldn't go to Albuquerque to train at Jackson's MMA. (Greg) Jackson, (Mike) Winkeljohn and all the other coaches turned me into a top-10 fighter”, declared Stann, who should pursue a career as a guest commentator, a role he already performs, on his own channel.

PUBLICITY:

Brian Stann, 32 years old, ends his career with a record of 12 wins and six losses. The former WEC light heavyweight champion's last fight did justice to the story of the athletes involved. Against Wanderlei Silva, at the mythical Saitama Super Arena, in Japan, Stann starred in one of the most electrifying fights of 2013. After an open first round with a lot of striking, the North American was knocked out by the Brazilian in the final minute of the second round.
