Lightweight number one, Justin Gaethje rules out Conor McGregor from the race for the belt

Confident that he will be the next to face Charles Do Bronx, the American dismissed the Irishman's chances of getting ahead of him in the title race

Confirmed by Dana White as the next challenger for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg), Justin gaethje seems not to be frightened by the 'shadow' of Conor McGregor. In an interview with the website 'TMZ Sports', the American belittled the Irish fighter and promised a 'rebellious attitude' if he doesn't get the title shot.

“McGregor is so irrelevant. He hasn't won a fight since 2016 at lightweight. I'm ranked number one, I saw they updated the rankings and I'm number one now. That is great. Congratulations, thank you sir. I appreciate that, let's go! I'm fighting for the belt. I've been working towards this my whole life and this is what comes next. Number one in the lightweight rankings, Justin has won five of his last six fights in the organization chaired by Dana White. The only setback in this sequence was for the former champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2020. His last confrontation was against Michael chandler No. UFC 268 and 'The Highlight' won the unanimous decision of the judges.
