Great favorite of UFC 269, Nunes arrived at the event to try to defend her sixth belt in the bantamweight category (up to 61,2kg). Dominant in the group, the Brazilian had a great start to the match and 'surpassed' in the first round.

The challenger, however, grew in the second stage and managed to surprise the then champion in the stand-up fight. After a sharp sequence of combinations of jabs and straight shots, it was on the ground that the 'Lione' ended up succumbing.
