UFC veteran, Anthony Smith he guarantees that he doesn't like choosing opponents within the organization, but, nevertheless, he decided to take a shot at the possibility of a fight within the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg.). With an eye on resuming his title challenger status, the athlete criticized a possible fight between Jan Blachowicz e Aleksandar rakic, recently glimpsed by the former champion.

“I'm scared because I'm indifferent (about who I'll face in the next fight). It would be shit if Jiri Prochazka get a title shot (against Glover Teixeira) and then Rakic and Blachowicz face each other. This leaves my hands tied,” said Anthony, in an interview with 'The Fighter vs. The Writer'.
Current number four in the ranking led by Glover, Smith opened up about what, according to him, he knows about Aleksandar. Bluntly, the North American accused the Austrian of having recently refused confrontations for the company.
“I know he rejected several fights since his last appearance with Thiago Santos (Marreta). It would be unfortunate if Rakic can sit back, deny matchups he doesn't want, and win the biggest fight available in the division. That would hurt me, to be honest, especially as a guy who accepts any and all fights that are offered and no one else wants,” he concluded.
A fact that may worry Smith even more is a recent interview with former division champion Blachowicz himself. In an interview with 'The MMA Hour', the Pole stated that he was interested in Aleksandar being his first opponent in an attempt to regain the category belt.
In a good moment in Ultimate, Smith and Rakic have already shared the Octagon. The fighters exchanged forces in August 2020. On that occasion, the Austrian came out on top, winning by unanimous decision from the judges.
