Former UFC fighter and champion of the first edition of The Ultimate Fighter, Diego Sanchez was hospitalized due to serious complications related to Covid-19.

A week ago, the 39-year-old athlete told his followers that he had contracted the virus and described a series of symptoms.
“C***, coughing, vomiting, with constant high fever, pain in all joints, five days without sleep and constant shortness of breath,” he wrote Diego Sanchez on November 19th.
In season, Diego Sanchez, who has not yet been vaccinated against Covid-19, stated that he would use an antibody cocktail to combat the symptoms. The fighter's situation, however, worsened soon after.
“I feel like a Navy Special Forces member who has been sleep deprived all week. Another sleepless night, my body is clearing all the poison. The antibodies are working, I learned that three days are enough for most people”, wrote the fighter, still optimistic.
Six days later, last Thursday (25), Diego Sanchez published a photo in which he appeared in the hospital and revealed that he has pneumonia related to Covid-19. Soon after, the veteran returned to the net to report blood clots in both legs.
“Blood clots now! Covid is no joke. Blood clots in both my legs”, said Diego.
Despite the drama experienced with the disease, Diego Sanchez he told a fan who is still not convinced about getting vaccinated for Covid-19.
“I'm going through this, but I can't say I'm convinced about the vaccine at the moment,” said Diego.
Diego Sanchez was fired by the UFC in May this year after more than 15 years fighting for the organization. Free on the market, the fighter has had his name linked to bare-knuckle boxing, but his future has not yet been defined.
