Recovering from a serious injury to his left ankle, Conor McGregor remains active on social media and with sharp claws. A magnet for controversy, the Irishman, this time, irritated the interim bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg.), Petr yan, when he placed himself above the Russian as owner of the best boxing in Ultimate. The matter ended in defiance.

“I boxed against three guys on the list,” wrote Conor, questioning a publication from 'EZ Raw', which placed the 'Notório' in third of the five best boxers in Ultimate, according to the profile. “There is no one close to my boxing in the UFC. Even Dustin (Poirier) only landed shots after I had an injured leg. They were all run over by me. Yan is good, I like his style. Still, I would finish him off,” McGregor wrote.

Uncomfortable with the Irishman's statement, Yan didn't let it go. Famous for his forcefulness and great ability to gradually undermine his rivals, the Russian hit back immediately.

“Conor, we all know you like to talk, but let’s be direct. If you want to box or fight, I don't care about weight class or rules. I’m sure you won’t show up”, he replied.

While the 'Notório' recovers from a broken ankle, suffered in July 2021, Yan is having a great time at bantamweight. The Russian comes from a recent victory over Cory Sandhagen, when he won the interim belt in the category.
