According to Holloway, however, his history in the lightweight division could soon gain new chapters. In an interview with the “RT Sports” channel, when asked about what his fight against Khabib would be like, Holloway indicated a possible meeting with Khabib's pupil, Islam makhachev.

“I would go in there and fight my fight, you know? What would you do Max Holloway do, fight at my pace, fight my fight, put pressure on him early and get the job done. I can't say much. I can still go up to 70 kg and we have Islam (Makhachev), who is Khabib's pupil there. At the end of the day, I can't give away my secrets too much, because we might see this guy in the near future,” said the former featherweight champion.

Before the possible meeting with Islam makhachev, Max Holloway comes into action this Saturday (13), when it faces Yair Rodriguez in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 42. A victory over the Mexican should qualify the Hawaiian to face Alexander Volkanovsky, current champion, for the third time.
