After strawweight champion (up to 52,1kg) Rose Namajunas suggested her name as her next opponent, Carla esparza reinforced the desire for a rematch. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', the former division leader stated that the duel against 'Thug Rose' is the only one that makes sense at the moment and left the 'bomb' in the hands of the UFC.

“Honestly, that's what I feel, that there really aren't many other options. I would love to hear what the UFC or Dana suggest as the next option they are talking about. But personally, as a fan of the division and this sport, I can't think of any other fight that would really make sense, so let's see what they do. But in reality, I think Rose and I are a fight that makes sense. It’s a fight she wants, it’s a fight I want, so I hope it happens”, said Carla.

Number two in the ranking up to 52,1kg, Esparza was the first champion of the category, in 2014. At the time, the 'cookie Monster' defeated Rose namajunas in the final of the twentieth edition of the reality show 'The Ultimate Fighter'. Carla has a professional MMA record of 18 triumphs and six setbacks.
