After Joanna Jedrzejczyk joined the group of athletes bothered by scholarships, paid by the UFC, Dana White decided to respond. In an interview with MMA Fighting, the company's president insinuated that the Polish woman was very well paid when she was the strawweight champion (up to 52,1kg) and criticized her for thinking that she only deserves fights for the category's belt.

“Joanna ‘ate a lot of cake’ when she was the champion, you know? She was the champion, she did very, very well, deservedly so. She's a little wild and I love that girl. She was telling us that she just wants to fight for the title, but that’s not how it works,” White stated.
Former leader of the under-52,1kg division, Joanna has not stepped into the Octagon since March 2020. On that occasion, the Polish woman had one of the best fights of that year against the Chinese Weili Zhang, in the strawweight belt dispute. Jedrzejczyk lost in a split decision from the judges. The fighter has a professional MMA record of 16 triumphs and four setbacks.
