If the objective of Norm Dumont was to get closer to a title fight in the shallow featherweight category (up to 65,7kg), she did it. At the UFC Las Vegas 40, event held last Saturday (16), the Brazilian surpassed Aspen ladd in the judges' decision and scored his third consecutive victory. She even celebrated that her combat strategy had an effect.

"I am really happy. As I imagined, Aspen (Ladd) would give me a really fun fight because she's an amazing, tough girl. She accepted the fight to save me. I'm feeling very happy to have fought with a girl as tough as Aspen (…) she did exactly what she does in every fight she does, but she found someone who had a quick hand to stop. Aspen is no fool. She knows that if she kept coming, she would probably get knocked out. So, she tried another way to stop me”, said Dumont, in a post-event press conference.

It does not stop there. In addition to moving up to featherweight (up to 65,7kg.), Norma also commented on the criticism that the North American received after failing to make weight to face Macy chiasson by dividing the roosters (up to 61,2kg.), in the UFC Las Vegas 38. The girl from Minas Gerais also made an 'appeal' for other athletes to migrate to her current division.

“I know what Aspen has been through the last few weeks. It received harsh criticism and people have to understand that we don't want to take advantage, but to have stability. What I want to leave, not only for Aspen, but for all athletes who are having difficulty with the frequency of making weight, is: worry about your health. Come to the featherweight division. We are going to make a huge division with very famous athletes”, he concluded.

Struggling to make weight in the bantamweight division, Norm Dumont seems to want to continue at featherweight. Initially, she would face the former champion Holly holm, who was injured and gave way to Aspen ladd. In his career, there are seven wins and one defeat.
