Norm Dumont ratified his good moment in UFC Las Vegas 40 this Saturday (16). In a five-round fight, the Brazilian had a dominant performance, managed to impose her game on the feet and defeated Aspen ladd in the unanimous decision of the judges (49-46, 48-47, 49-46). The fight was valid for the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg).

With the triumph, Dumont got closer to a possible title fight in the organization, if president Dana White continues with the category. The Minas Gerais native has now scored her third consecutive victory and increased her number to seven triumphs and just one setback.

The fight
The duel had a tense start, with a lot of study on the part of both athletes. With a larger wingspan, Norm Dumont measured the distance through jabs and managed to maintain Aspen ladd at a comfortable distance. Even so, the North American landed the best blow of the round, with a straight shot that made the Brazilian retreat.
In the second round, the fight remained with little action. Aspen ladd tried to shorten it to work with the combinations, while Norm Dumont he took the opportunity to counterattack and feel comfortable in the duel, at his distance and with the best blows.
If Dumont was superior in the opening rounds, the scene looked like 'Déjà-vu' in the third round. Likewise, the Brazilian applied the best blows and felt comfortable. The fourth round was marked by Ladd's takedown attempt. Still, the American took a 'reversal' and Norma fell on top, having time to work on her game with elbows. At a disadvantage, Aspen still had time to reverse the situation and applied good elbows.

After the fight, in an interview still in the octagon, Norm Dumont made a point of praising the strength of Aspen ladd and 'invited' the North American to continue in the featherweight category (up to 65,7kg). She even stated that her opponent was the strongest she had ever faced.
“(Aspen) Ladd accepted the fight at the last minute, but I wanted to tell her not to kill herself in the lower division (bantamweight – up to 56,7 kg). She's a shame. Much stronger than other athletes I've faced here”, said the Brazilian.
