The successive changes in the next fight of Mauritius Shogun, first on the opponent and more recently on the date, left the former UFC light heavyweight champion frustrated. The Brazilian used his profile on Instagram to lament the recent news that his confrontation against Chael Sonnen – which would replace Rogério Minotouro – would have to be postponed, due to the North American’s problems with the Canadian visa.
“Tonight I was at home with my team studying my new opponent's fights for UFC 161, when I received the sad news that my opponent, Chael Sonnen, you will not be able to attend the event. I would like to thank the fans around the world for your love and support”, published the athlete, along with an image of his people gathered together watching a Sonnen fight.
The fight between Mauritius Shogun e Chael Sonnen, which would replace the canceled rematch between the Curitiba native and Rogério Minotouro at UFC 161, should be postponed until August 17th, in Boston. The inaugural Ultimate event takes place on the new FOX Sports 1 channel in the USA.
