"If you want Jon Jones fired, my next question is: why? The answer would be obvious: to hurt him, to punish him, right? Still, are you sure you want to dismiss him? If you release a guy, you have no control over what he can achieve if he checks the market. If you keep it in the contract, you will have control over the responses. For Sonnen, the worst thing for Jon at the moment would be to remain under contract with Ultimate. According to the former UFC belt challenger in two categories, the lack of payments, as 'Bones' hasn't performed in almost two years, he could be even more lethal to the former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.).

“Ever since Jon faced Dominick reyes (as of February 2020), the UFC has not made any payments to him. He is unemployed. There are steps to follow. He has no sponsors, he is not writing a book, he does not give seminars. Speaking of justice, this is a great punishment, for you to 'dry' someone economically. Jones' new arrest happened just over a week ago. Hours before being arrested, in Las Vegas (USA), the MMA legend had been honored by Ultimate, joining the 'Hall of Fame', for his fight against Alexander GustafsonIn 2013.
