Hardly defeated by Kamaru Usman in April, in the rematch for the welterweight belt (under 77kg.), Jorge masvidal wants to fight. In an interview with 'Uncensored MMA', the 'Jesus of the Streets' spared no criticism of Ultimate, and Hunter Campbell, one of those responsible for 'marrying' clashes for the company, and demanded a new commitment. The athlete took the opportunity to 'attack' Leon edwards, whom he accuses of having rejected a confrontation.

Without acting since the defeat to Usman in the UFC 261, the 'Jesus of the Streets' does not hide the fact that he had an ideal opponent in mind: Leon edwards. The American, however, admitted that the Englishman, with whom he has an old feud, rejected a proposal for a duel, as his rival insists on an immediate duel for the title.

“The contract was in front of him. He has already denied (the fight) two or three times. We are moving forward. We won't ask for names. I do it this way when it comes to contracts. It's 'yes or no. (…) He (Edwards) said I rejected a confrontation. No, your idiot. I fought for the belt twice, why would I face you? Now, I had some free time. I'm going to knock this guy's teeth out, but we can't find him. We will need to move on, because he is a coward,” he concluded.

Current number three in the ranking led by Kamaru Usman, Leon has not performed since the triumph over Nate diaz, in June. Last season, the Englishman was close to losing his prominent position in the category due to his inactivity within the organization. Today, Edwards boasts an undefeated streak of 10 fights.

After the loss to Usman, Masvidal ended up leaving the top 5 in the division. Today, the North American is in sixth place and has accumulated two stumbles in a row, both for the current champion.
