It was barely confirmed by Ultimate and the fight between Mauritius Shogun e Chael Sonnen, who was supposed to replace the injured Minotouro at UFC 161, ended up being postponed. According to information released by journalist Guilherme Cruz, problems with Sonnen's Canadian work visa prevented the confrontation, announced this Monday (3), from taking place.
Himself Mauritius Shogun talked about what happened on his official profile on Twitter. “We just found out that the fight against Chael also fell through. I wanted to apologize to the fans, I did what I could to fight. I’ll be back on August 17th”, the athlete published on the microblogging network.

The impossibility of obtaining a work permit for Canada (the event takes place in Winnipeg) was also commented on by the specialized press in the United States. Canadian reporter Tim Burke, from the website Bloody elbow, classified the 12-day period until the event for Sonnen to obtain his visa as “insufficient”.
Although not yet official, the new date for the fight should be August 17, in Boston, at the UFC's debut on the new FOX Sports 1 channel in the USA. The event already has the presence of the Brazilian welterweight Thiago Pitbull, scheduled to face the American Matt Brown.
