The 'soap opera' about the return of Jon Jones to the octagon seems to have put the Ultimate legend's future in MMA in doubt, at least for Jan Blachowicz. The new 'king' of the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg), the Pole opened up about the possibility of one day fighting 'Bones' with UFC gloves. For the champion, the interest is no longer the same and the athlete even suggests that the North American may have retired.

“I think the conversation about facing Jon Jones is closed. There's no point talking about him anymore. Maybe he won't even fight in any division anymore. (…) I forgot about him, now that you reminded me about Jon Jones”, said Blachowicz, in an interview with 'MMA fighting'.
Considered by many to be the best MMA fighter of all time, Jones has not performed since February 2020. In August of last season, the American gave up the light heavyweight title and made his migration to the group official. up to 120,2kg.
At first, 'Bones' going to one of the most dangerous categories in the sport generated expectations. The debut, however, ended up being postponed until today, due to confusion involving the athlete and the Ultimate board, when the fighter demands better payments for his new test.
While Jon doesn't decide his future, Blachowicz continues to lead the light heavyweight division. Champion since overcoming Dominick reyes, UFC 253, the Pole has a belt defense and a scheduled fight against Glover Teixeira for October 30th. Against the Brazilian, Jan will try to maintain his reign.
