“I always think there is a chance. That's the fight to do. I would hate to miss this opportunity between Francis and Jon. It reminds me a little of when Pacquiao and Floyd were going to face each other for the first time and then something happened and the flame started to fade. So I hope this fight happens, because in my head Jon Jones is the greatest of all time. As a coach and competitor, I want to compete against the best. We want to and will compete against the best available. I think that Cyryl Gane He ended up putting his name on that cake, but this would be the fight that the fans, the press and everyone would like to see, Jon against Francis”, he concluded.

In litigation with the UFC, Jon Jones hasn't entered the Octagon since February 2020, when he defended his light heavyweight belt against Dominick reyes. After the victory Jones relinquished the title and stated that he will only fight again when he feels financially rewarded to what he deserves. Furthermore, the former champion stated that when he returns, he will return as a heavyweight.
