The victory and, mainly, the performance of José Aldo against Peter Munhoz No. UFC 265, held on August 7th, caught the attention of many people. The former featherweight champion completely dominated his compatriot and won by unanimous decision, achieving his second consecutive victory in the bantamweight division. In an interview with journalist James Lynch, Kenflo praised José Aldo and opined that the fight against Munhoz showed the best version of the former champion, whom he considers a “master of mixed martial arts”.

PUBLICITY:

“It was brilliant to watch. José Aldo is so talented and we always wait for that fighter who used to throw a lot of leg kicks and kicks in general. I think the José Aldo that we saw against Peter Munhoz he was the best Aldo we've ever seen, especially in the third round. He was on fire. In the first round he was a little more reserved, but he showed that he is a true master of mixed martial arts. When he is in top form, especially in three-round fights, it will be very difficult to defeat him.”

Kenny Florian faced José Aldo at UFC 136 in October 2011, in what ended up being the last fight of his career. Defeated by unanimous decision to the former champion, Kenflo believes that the winning mentality is what has made the Brazilian fight at a high level for so long.

PUBLICITY:

“It shows the mentality he has to feed that kind of hunger and passion for the sport. I think he made his MMA debut 17 years ago or something like that. So seeing him competing at such a high level in the UFC says a lot about him as a martial artist, as a man and as a professional. He's definitely going to the UFC Hall of Fame. He will retire as one of the greatest of all time at featherweight and bantamweight. It’s a pleasure to watch him compete and it was an honor to compete against someone like him.”
