After seeing his son AJ win the Bellator featherweight belt (up to 65,7kg), Antônio McKee demonstrated that he has great ideas for his son's reign. The former fighter suggested a duel against champions from the UFC and other organizations and said that he already had the approval of the organization's president Scott Coker. The statement was given in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'.

The father'sMercenary' continued his 'machine gun' criticism of the organization chaired by Dana White and said that his idea was well received by Scott Coker.
“I've already spoken to Scott Coker. He agrees, but why doesn't the UFC do this? Why would he water the UFC brand when you have fighters coming from Bellator for beating the shit out of the Ultimate guys?”, concluded the former fighter.
No Bellator 263 on July 31st, Antônio's son, A. J. McKee, won the featherweight belt by knocking out the Brazilian Patrick Pitbull in the first round. The American has an undefeated record of 17 victories in his professional career.
