The Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare, multiple jiu-jitsu champion before starting his career in MMA, makes his Ultimate debut on May 18th, in Jaraguá do Sul (SC). But contrary to what one might imagine, the Espírito Santo's ground game doesn't seem to worry his UFC opponent in Fight 2, Cypriot Costa Phillipou.

In interview with the program MMA JunkieRadio, Phillipou recognized his opponent's abilities, but showed confidence in his training. “He is a complete fighter, and he has improved a lot. But I have one of the best ground fighters in the world, (former UFC champion) Matt Serra, preparing me for this,” he said.

Furthermore, Costantinos highlighted that he believes in the combination of styles that defines the sport. “Even if he takes me down and keeps me on the ground, it's MMA. I'm not worried about that. I’m confident enough to defend and stay on my feet, and then he’ll have to do it all over again,” he noted.

Ronaldo Jacare and Constantinos Phillipou face off in the co-main event of the UFC in Combate 2, which takes place on May 18th in Jaraguá do Sul (SC). The clash between the last Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold and the Brazilian Vitor belfort tops the card of the night.
