Ultimate management announced that UFC 164 will be held in August, most likely on the 30th, at the Bradley Center, in the city of Milwaukee (USA). A single athlete was announced for the night's card, the North American Diego Sanchez. His opponent, however, was not announced.
Winner of the first edition of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter in the middleweight category, Diego Sanchez He beat Japanese Takanori Gomi, by split decision, in his last appearance in the Octagon – at UFC Japan 2013. Sanchez currently fights in the lightweight division. The 31-year-old fighter has a record of 24 wins and five losses.
UFC 164 is the second event officially announced for the month of August. The first of them, UFC 163, already has August 3rd as a defined date and Brazil as the host country, with only Rio de Janeiro as the venue still to be confirmed. An inaugural event for a new channel from the FOX group, the organization's partner, is also expected, but has not been formally announced.
