or combat of Chael Sonnen against Jon Jones, for the Ultimate light heavyweight title, seems to have been the beginning of a new chapter in the loudmouth's career. In an interview with the program 'UFC Tonight', last Tuesday (30), Sonnen revealed that he will continue in the 93 kg category and spoke about his desire to face one of the main names in Brazilian MMA.

“I'm definitely going to stay (in the light heavyweight division), unless a combined weight fight comes up,” said Chael. The loudmouth had already fought in the 93 kg division before, including in his first UFC fight against Renato Sobral, but he had been working at middleweight since his WEC days.

Sonnen also took advantage of the interview to do what he does best: provoke and choose his next opponent. The target this time was the Brazilian Wanderlei Silva. “He (Wanderlei) had challenged me before, and I challenged him, but the fight never made sense. I was a challenger and he was just a guy on the card. Now I think the fight makes a little more sense,” he said.

But the fight against Wand is not being treated as a “whim” by Chael, but as a goal for his career. “I'm not leaving the sport. Whenever people ask me about retirement, I never say this, but I always think: 'I'm not going anywhere until I get things right with Wanderlei once and for all'”, he concluded.
