For the second time in less than a week, the light heavyweight title holder Jon Jones demonstrated that his aspirations in the category are different from those indicated by the Ultimate organization. At the UFC 159 press conference, in which Jones defended his belt against Chael Sonnen, the champion revealed that he would like to face the Swede Alexander Gustafson and not Brazilian Lyoto Machida, considered today as the number one challenger in the division.
“I think Gustafsson is a good fight for me. As soon as possible, I don't want to wait. He’s who I want to fight next,” said Jones. “Bones” also justified his preference for fighting with the Swede, and not against him. Lyoto Machida as expected. “I have already fought against Lyoto Machida before. I fight for the love of sport, and to prove the critics wrong. A lot of people think I've been successful because I look bigger than my opponents, and with Alexander (Gustafsson) that wouldn't happen.”
Last Saturday (27), Jon Jones won Chael Sonnen by technical knockout in the first round of the main fight of UFC 159. With the victory, Jones defended the light heavyweight title for the fifth consecutive time and equaled the category's record – held by the member of Hall of Fame Tito Ortiz.

Lyoto wants Jon Jones, Jon Jones wants Gustafsson and Gustafsson wants Lyoto… Go figure…
It's the first time I've seen a champion ask for an opponent and turn down another. Strange!
Lyoto almost ended Jon's unbeaten record, I felt that he was afraid of losing, and he kept choosing super fights, “what a scoundrel!”
