Did you deserve a bonus for the night?

“It was a surprise, everyone expected it, there were a lot of people complaining. I don’t know what criteria they use, everyone was saying I would get the bonus, but…I don’t know.”

Was the interruption premature?

“So, a lot of people complained that he (the referee) stopped early. Well, I was there to fight, I wasn't the one who should stop the fight, there was a professional there to do that. And a lot of people came to complain to me about it and I replied: 'Guys, it's not my fault'. If he hadn't stopped the fight, I would have continued hitting her and she wouldn't have gotten up.”

Game plan against Ruiz

“I knew she (Montserrat Ruiz) would come at me with everything. She usually presses her opponents against the fence to attempt a takedown and keep the person on the ground. That's what she did throughout the fight in her previous fight. We studied a lot and that's why I practiced a lot of striking and I waited for her to come because I knew she was going to 'get it'”.

Is knockout power a differentiator?

"I believe so. I believe I'm strong for the category. I don't like to play much, I train hard to go in and hit hard.

Rating your game?

“I try to improve every day in training, a lot of people say I'm just a striker. I haven't been able to show it yet, but a lot of people will be surprised by my evolution in grapple and in jiu-jitsu. I try to train a lot in this, everyone already knows my brand which is stand-up fighting, many opponents will not want to exchange with me, they will want to use the grapple and you will be surprised.

Return projection

“I asked to fight in October, on Ilha da Luta, I'm waiting for the answer and I hope I can do it. I even want to take my coaches with me, take my entire team, because they still don't have visas for the United States, we haven't gotten one yet. My goal is this: take my team to Ilha da Luta in October.”

Possible next opponent

“There are several that interest me… Tecia torres, Michelle Waterson, Nina (Nunes)…”

PUBLICITY:

Would you have a problem facing a Brazilian from your division?

“I have no relationship with any of them, I don’t know them. But we are professionals and at one point or another we will face each other. As I already fought with Livinha (Souza). This ends up being inevitable, so, from my side, everything is fine.”

Message for the division

“I want to let you know that I have arrived, get ready. I have no intention of messing with anyone, of provoking anyone, I just want to put on a show for the public and show that I deserve to be there in the octagon.”
