Wanderlei Silva He played a great trick on everyone who follows MMA. The fighter stated that he would be the replacement for the injured man Alexander Gustafson at UFC Sweden 2, but it was all just a lie on April 1st. The joke fooled fans, journalists and even Gegard Mousasi, who imagined being the Brazilian's rival on the show.

After denying the news, Wand published a video on his official YouTube channel where he apologized to his fans and explained how the idea for the game came about. Despite the lie, the Brazilian guarantees that he did not fight at the event because the UFC did not invite him.

PUBLICITY:

“I apologize to all of you. I think it was a healthy joke. I appreciate the affection of everyone who supports me wholeheartedly, but unfortunately I won't fight this Saturday. If I upset you, I apologize. You who bought the barbecue and invited the whole group to watch the event with Wand also don't need to cancel anything. The UFC is always a great show and we will have the Diego Brandao representing Brazil”, joked “Crazy Dog”.

With Gustafsson's absence from the show, the UFC called up the Swede's training partner and compatriot Ilir Latif. He will be the Iranian's true rival Gegard Mousasi in the main fight of the night. Still in the video, Silva apologized to Mousasi, but did not rule out a possible fight against the Iranian.

PUBLICITY:

“I wish him good luck in this fight on Saturday. I apologize for the joke. But if you don’t want to accept my excuse, we’re there… I’m also in the under-93kg category”, he added.
