“I have a lot of respect for Douglas. He's a big name, a great fighter and it was an immense pleasure to face him. It gives me an understanding that I am growing, that I am becoming better and it gives me hope for the future. I'm very happy that I was able to fight him and defeat him. I will do whatever it takes to defend my title. Bellator will offer me challengers, set up fights, but I'll do what I have to do. If my victories serve as a bit of inspiration, it makes me very happy,” said the new welterweight leader.

The Ukrainian fighter boasts an undefeated record in professional MMA with 26 victories. Since his arrival at Bellator in 2017, there were seven consecutive victories until he won the belt last June. The European athlete has already defeated names like Erick silva, Ed Ruth and David Rickels.
