Even though he officially retired from MMA in 2019, Georges St-Pierre may soon return to competing. In an interview with the North American website 'Sports Illustrated', the Canadian, who was UFC welterweight (up to 77kg) and middleweight (up to 83,9kg) champion, does not rule out appearing in exhibition fights in the future.

“My contract with the UFC will end in almost two years and I will be free – and still in shape. I'm still a fighter and an artist. If there is an exhibition fight or charity fights, then 'never say never',” St-Pierre said.
It is not new that there has been speculation about a return for St-Pierre. The Canadian had his name linked in a superfight against the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg.) Khabib Nurmagomedov, as well as a boxing match against the legend Oscar De La Hoya. He was willing to accept because he was debuting in the 'noble art', but he saw the president of Ultimate, Dana White, block the negotiation.
“Believe me, if this fight had happened, I would have moved to Los Angeles and done a full training camp. Unfortunately, Dana White didn't want it. It is what it is. I can't be mad at him. People said to take him to court, but that makes me seem unfair. I don’t want to spend money on lawyers and everything else”, concluded the Canadian.
The last time Georges was seen in the octagon was at UFC 217. On that occasion, the fighter resumed his career after a four-year hiatus and made history, winning the linear middleweight belt, which, at the time, belonged to Michael Bisping.
