Even emerging victorious from the duel against Rory McDonald in PFL 5 last Thursday (17), Gleison Tibau admitted that he was surprised by the result. In a press conference after the show, the Brazilian praised his opponent and admitted that he was surprised to be declared the winner.

"Rory McDonald It's a legend. He's a tough guy, a complete fighter. It was a good fight, it wasn’t an easy fight”, said Tibau.
Asked about how he felt seeing the fight go to the judges' decision, the Brazilian fighter admitted nervousness and admitted to being surprised by the positive result.
“I was nervous. Because the fight was tough, you know? Every fighter I know, when they have a difficult fight that goes to a decision, everyone gets nervous. It was a big surprise”, admitted the Brazilian fighter.
Even with the victory over Rory, Tibau was unable to qualify for the semi-finals of the welterweight tournament. In two fights in the 2021 season, the Brazilian achieved a positive and a negative result, against João Zeferino in April of this year. Professional since 1999, the fighter from Rio Grande do Norte has a record of 35 triumphs and 10 setbacks.
