Second Colby covington, the victory of Leon edwards about Nate diaz No. UFC 263 it wasn't enough to put him in the position of number one contender at welterweight (up to 77,1kg). After Edwards asked for a duel against the champion, Kamaru Usman, the American insinuated that the English fighter lost the opportunity to fight for the belt because he hadn't stayed active.
“There were people struggling since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and he didn’t want them. Edwards was turning down every fight he was offered. He was waiting to choose his fights. Leon did this to himself. The UFC knows he turned down many fights and was never ready to fight. I was always prepared”, he concluded the 'Chaos'.
Current number one in the welterweight rankings, Colby covington was confirmed as the next fighter to try to dethrone the champion Kamaru Usman. The fighter has won seven of his last eight duels in the octagon and has a record of 16 victories and two setbacks.
