Confrontation between Brazilian light heavyweights was scheduled for September 25th and was postponed by a week

The fight between Brazilians Thiago Marreta e Johnny Walker got a new date. The duel will be held on October 2nd, as the main attraction of an event in the series Fight Night. Originally, the light heavyweights (up to 93 kg.) would face each other on September 25th. The information was released by the MMA Fighting website.

The decision was made after the UFC changed plans for fights in September. Thus, the 25th of the month will have the card of UFC 266, with combat between Jan Blachowicz e Glover Teixeira in the light heavyweight title fight.

This will be the return of Johnny Walker after winning Ryan spann by knockout, in September 2020. Before that, the Brazilian had accumulated two consecutive defeats, against Corey anderson e Nikita Krylov. He has a record of 18 wins and five losses in MMA.

Moreover, Thiago Marreta seeks his first victory since February 2019, when he knocked out Jan Blachowicz. Since then he has lost on three occasions, against Jon Jones, Glover Teixeira e Aleksandar rakic. He has a record of 21 wins and nine losses.
