Close to defending the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg) for the third time, Israel adesanya is still far from 'cleaning' the category, at least in Dana White's view. The president of Ultimate stated that there will always be challenges for the champion and declared that there is still some time for the Nigerian to completely 'empty' the division. The statement was given to the 'Submission Radio'.

“It’s not true (that Adesanya has cleared the division). People said that about Anderson Silva for years. There is always someone to follow. To completely clear a division, he still has some time,” Dana declared.
Next Saturday (12), 'Stylebender' will face Marvin vettori for the second time in the main fight of UFC 263. In the first duel between the two athletes, in April 2018, the Nigerian won the judges' split decision in a very balanced fight.
Middleweight leader since 2019, Israel adesanya returns to his home division after an unsuccessful attempt to win the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg).
