Bela Muhammad says he doesn't believe in an easy duel against Demian Maia at UFC 263

Even with the possibility of the Brazilian retiring after next Saturday's fight, the American fighter stated that his opponent is still dangerous

On the eve of facing Demian Maia No. UFC 263, Belal Muhammad | showed that he is aware of the great challenge that lies ahead. The American fighter praised his opponent and stated that he does not expect an easy duel against the Brazilian. The statement was made on the 'media day' of the show next Saturday (12).

“I'm going to have to put him to 'sleep' if I want to win this fight. He's not one of those guys who breaks down easily. He has five-round fights with some of the best fighters in the world. I will remind everyone that he is a great competitor,” Muhammad said.

Even with Demian's announcement that next Saturday's clash could be the last of his career, Muhammad does not expect an easier clash because of this.

“Demian is still dangerous and a legend respected by all fighters. Beating a guy like that before he retires will be great. People say, 'He's 42 and at the end of his career.' He’s won three of his last four fights, so he’s still dangerous,” concluded the American.

Current number twelve in the welterweight rankings, Belal is looking for another victory to enter the top-10 of the category. In his last five fights, the fighter won four and had one 'no result' fight. The North American has a record of 18 wins and three wins.
