Dana White says Nick Diaz will probably fight again in 2021

Having been away from professional combat for more than six years, the 'bad boy' is expected to step back into an Ultimate octagon this year, according to Dana White

Looks like we'll see Nick Diaz back in the octagon soon. According to Dana White, negotiations for the 'bad boy's' return are quite advanced and we should see the veteran back in Ultimate in 2021. The statement was given in an interview with 'UFC Saudi'.

“I wasn’t too sure about his future but I think it will happen. Looks like Nick Diaz will fight later this year. The UFC matchmakers have already spoken to him and the future looks promising,” said Nick.

The last duel of Nick Diaz for Ultimate was in January 2015. At the time, the North American was facing the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) Anderson Silva who returned from a serious injury. The Brazilian fighter won the confrontation, but the duel was changed to 'no result' after the 'bad boy' was caught in an anti-doping test.

A professional fighter since 2001, Nick was welterweight champion (up to 77,1kg) at the now-defunct Strikeforce event. In Ultimate, the North American competed for the division's interim belt but was defeated by Carlos Condit in February 2012. The veteran has a record of 26 triumphs and nine setbacks.
