One of the main names in the Ultimate middleweight category, Chris Leben, received a new chance from the organization to rehabilitate himself, as he hasn't won in two years. Leben's opponent in the new challenge is Andrew Craig and the meeting is scheduled for UFC 162.

Leben's last victory in Ultimate took place on July 2, 2011, against Wanderlei Silva, at UFC 132. On that occasion, “The Crippler”, as he is known, knocked out the Brazilian in just 27 seconds.

In addition to the fight between Leben and Craig, a fight between welterweights Seth Baczynski and Brian Melancon was also announced. Baczynski has four wins in his last five fights, but is coming off a defeat – against Mike Pierce, in December 2012. Melancon is making his UFC debut, after having had his last two fights with Strikeforce.

The event that hosts the announced fights, UFC 162, takes place on July 6, in Las Vegas. The main fight of the night marks the Brazilian's 11th title defense Anderson Silva, Ultimate middleweight champion. Spider's challenger will be the undefeated North American Chris Weidman.
