Since beating Brian Stann in the UFC Japan main event on March 3, Wanderlei Silva has been constantly linked to a hypothetical retirement. The subject, however, does not seem to please Brazilians very much. In an interview given to the program Inside MMA, from the North American cable channel AXS TV, the “Crazy Dog” stated that he plans his career one fight at a time.

“I take one fight at a time”, said Wand, who stated that he constantly feels “the rope around his neck”, but has managed to overcome himself. In fact, the Brazilian has been the 'underdog' in his last fights and, even so, he has achieved good results.

“I had three fights of the night in a row – against Cung le, against Franklin and now (against Brian Stann – and I got four bonuses in three fights,” explained Silva. “I don't know what I can do better. The last fight was very close, I was so close to beating Franklin, and I I don’t know man, why do they want to retire me? Take it easy”, added the former PRIDE champion.

Regarding how he defines his future, “The Ax Muderer”, was emphatic in declaring that only the fans influence his decision to continue fighting or stop fighting. “The public is the boss. As long as the public wants me, I will continue,” he concluded.
