Representative of the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg.), Pezão was coming off a defeat to Alexander Romanov, in November 2020. Now, the 35-year-old athlete is recovering from the positive result and is once again dreaming of the top 15 in the division led by Francis Ngannou.

The defeat to Marcos ended up complicating Greene's situation in the company. An easy prey to the São Paulo native's takedowns, the North American suffered his fourth setback in his last five fights.

The fight

The duel began with the athletes engaging in frank exchanges. The heavyweights were looking for a knockout in the opening seconds. Pezão went up, risked a cross and then started to press his opponent against the bars. Greene tried to free himself, but ended up falling, with the Brazilian in an advantageous position. Just like in the first round, the Brazilian fell on top and dominated his opponent again, with attacks from top to bottom. After just over a minute, the Tupiniquim increased his pace and tried to score a knockout. Maurice continued to cling to the Brazilian, trying to stop Marcos' attacks. Pezão took advantage of his opponent's oversight and connected two 'hammeres' to his rival's face. The confrontation continued to unfold smoothly for the Brazilian. The round ended like the first, with the Brazilian on top, giving his opponent no chance.

The last stage began with Greene delivering a kick to Pezão's waistline. Immediately, Marcos grabbed the American and took the fight to the ground. Repeating the script from the previous stages, the Brazilian fell on top and continued to dominate the duel. Underneath, Maurice could do little. The São Paulo native weighed his body on his rival and left his opponent without any reactions. Near the final minute, Greene managed to spin, but Pezão continued without fear. The assault ended with the Tupiniquim's complete dominance.
