After shocking the world with the serious injury suffered in UFC 261, retirement is not in the plans Chris Weidman. “It's very frustrating and I know how much work it will take, but it's my goal (to fight again). I know how good I am and want to be able to prove it. I don't have many years left in my career to do this. My body has never felt better than it did for this fight (against Uriah Hall No. UFC 261). I can't believe this happened. It's shit. I was excited to show the world how good I am,” said the fighter.

Returning to fight is not just a matter of honor for Weidman. In addition to resuming his career, the athlete wants to use his incident as a motivational factor for other people who may encounter difficulties.

“If I can readjust my body, I want to fight with 100% certainty. I want to show my talent and I can inspire other people. It will not be easy. (…) It’s a long journey”, he concluded.

Against Hall, in UFC 261, Chris tried to confirm the good phase of his career. If he beat the Jamaican, the North American would have his second positive result in a row, something that hadn't happened in over five years.

The athlete, however, ended up not having time to put his strategy into practice. Just 17 seconds into the fight, Weidman suffered the injury, which removed him from the duel.
