Anthony Pettis and two-time champion Natan Schulte debut in the PFL lightweight tournament this Friday

The big moment has arrived. This Friday (23), in Atlantic City (USA), the PFL (Professional Fighters League) will kick off its traditional lightweight tournament (up to 70,3kg.). In the main fights, fans will be able to watch the former UFC fighter's debuts, Anthony Pettis and the two-time league champion, Natan schulte, two of the organization's main names. The show will feature 10 clashes.

Former Ultimate Lightweight Champion, Anthony Pettis will have his first commitment since leaving the organization chaired by Dana White. Known for his aggressive style, the American will face Clay Collard in the main fight.

Considered one of the PFL's biggest acquisitions for the season, Pettis will seek to prove that he still has what it takes to perform at a high level. After a period of career instability, theshowtime' will have the opportunity to win another title and, as a bonus, take home the dream prize of US$1 million (around R$5,4 million), given to the winner at the end of the championship.

For Pettis to reach his goal, the American must be successful in his four fights scheduled for 2021. Still, the fighter will eventually need to get past the Brazilian Natan schulte, who knows the league well, having won it on two occasions.

Seeking his third title, Schulte will take part in the co-main event and will exchange forces with Marcin Held. Without fighting for over a year, the Santa Catarina native is trying to extend his undefeated streak, which has already lasted 10 fights. If he is successful again in the championship, Natan will win his third million.

In addition to the lightweight league, the featherweight championship (up to 65,7kg) will also start this Friday. Just like Natan, an athlete is looking for his third championship: Lance Palmer. Winner of the tournament on two occasions, the North American will start the competition in a duel against Bubba Jenkis.

Brazilian fans will also have reasons to follow the preliminary card of the show. Looking for a fresh start, Sheymon Moraes debuts in the organization after an unstable stint in the UFC. Coming from two consecutive setbacks, the featherweight representative will face Brendan Loughnane in the confrontation that closes the first half of the card.
