Underdog, Alex Cowboy promises to 'break the bank' and knock out Randy Brown at UFC 261

In an exclusive conversation with SUPER LUTAS, a Brazilian says he is upset with his opponent and said he is thinking about challenging Robbie Lawler in case of victory

One of the Brazilian representatives at the UFC 261, which takes place this Saturday (24), in Jacksonville (USA), Alex Cowboy He wants to win again to get closer to the top 15 in the welterweight division (up to 77kg.). He will face Randy Brown on the preliminary card of the event. Exclusively to SUPER FIGHTS, the Brazilian stated that he says he is 'upset' with his opponent and wants to 'break the bank' in the fight.

In an interview with the website 'BJPenn.com’, Randy Brown, stated that he is 'ready for war' and that he will knock him out. The Brazilian, however, reveals resentment towards his opponent and promises to respond in the duel. He also talked about being an underdog at the betting shops.

I’m going to knock him out,” promised Cowboy.

We did the training and final adjustments, but it didn't happen. The fight would have everything possible not to happen, but now it's going to happen and I'm ready for war”, highlighted the Brazilian.

The Brazilian indicated that he plans to face the former division champion, Robbie Lawler, in sequence. Still, he stated that he wants fights against fighters from the 'top 15' of the welterweight division.

“I've always said that I don't choose an opponent and whoever the UFC wants to put me in, I'll fight. But I'm willing to fight in the top 15 and I want to get the Robbie Lawler, which is ranked first. It’s the right thing to start at the top and grow so that, God willing, we can reach a title fight in the future,” said the welterweight.

Owner of an aggressive style, Cowboy has attracted Brazilian fans since he debuted in Ultimate, back in 2015. In his 20th fight in the organization, he thanked them for their affection and said he will bring victory to Brazil.

“Thank you very much to the people who are rooting for me, supporting me and sending messages. They are such fans that they even find out the phone number (laughs). And on Saturday the 'animals will catch', you can count on me. I will tackle the problem and solve it. I will take this victory to Brazil, without a doubt”, he concluded.

Alex Cowboy is also looking for his rehabilitation in Ultimate. With a record of 22 wins and nine losses, the welterweight plans to return to the top-15 in the division. In his last fight, he was submitted by Uzbek Shavkat Rakhomonov in the UFC 254 in October 2020.
