One of the Brazilian representatives at the UFC 261, which takes place this Saturday (24), in Jacksonville (USA), Alex Cowboy He wants to win again to get closer to the top 15 in the welterweight division (up to 77kg.). He will face Randy Brown on the preliminary card of the event. Exclusively to SUPER FIGHTS, the Brazilian stated that he says he is 'upset' with his opponent and wants to 'break the bank' in the fight.

In an interview with the website 'BJPenn.com’, Randy Brown, stated that he is 'ready for war' and that he will knock him out. The Brazilian, however, reveals resentment towards his opponent and promises to respond in the duel. He also talked about being an underdog at the betting shops.
“The guy said he was going to knock me out (laughs). We only talk when 'put the ox down'. For now, the 'ox is standing'. So I'm ready. As long as he speaks and the 'ox is standing', nothing will happen. But stay tuned, because now I'm upset with him and I'm going to 'plant' my hand in his face. I found out that I'm the underdog, but it's certainly one more reason to break the bank. Anyone who bet against will lose their money. And whoever bet on me will win. I’m going to knock him out,” promised Cowboy.

In February, the fight between Alex Cowboy e Randy Brown was scheduled to happen. However, the week of the fight, the North American had to leave the fight after testing positive for COVID-19. Then, Ultimate decided on newcomer Ramazan Kuramagomedov as the Brazilian's opponent, but the Russian became ill and also did not fight in the event. Now, the initial duel should get off the ground, much to the relief of the Tupiniquim representative, who vented about the frustrations of the cancellations.
“I was a little upset because of (the cancellation of) the fight. We prepare, we train a lot and we follow the entire diet. I train hard and the opponent caught COVID. It takes away our base. We did the training and final adjustments, but it didn't happen. The fight would have everything possible not to happen, but now it's going to happen and I'm ready for war”, highlighted the Brazilian.
PRESENCE OF FANS
In addition to having the opportunity to recover from the defeat suffered by Shavkat Rakhmonov in October 2020, the fighter from Três Rios, in Rio de Janeiro, also spoke about the return of the public to the arenas. According to him, it is another incentive for the show, regardless of whether the crowd is supporting or against.
“I fought at the event in (Las) Vegas in the last event with fans (against Max griffin, in March 2020). And now, it definitely gives you a boost. Thank God everyone will be back, cheering and shouting. Even if you are for or against. Who doesn’t like the people there?”, highlighted the fighter.
FIGHT AGAINST ROBBIE LAWLER?
Cowboy revealed that he thinks about the future and is already planning the next step, if he wins Randy Brown No. UFC 261. The Brazilian indicated that he plans to face the former division champion, Robbie Lawler, in sequence. Still, he stated that he wants fights against fighters from the 'top 15' of the welterweight division.
“I've always said that I don't choose an opponent and whoever the UFC wants to put me in, I'll fight. But I'm willing to fight in the top 15 and I want to get the Robbie Lawler, which is ranked first. It’s the right thing to start at the top and grow so that, God willing, we can reach a title fight in the future,” said the welterweight.

Owner of an aggressive style, Cowboy has attracted Brazilian fans since he debuted in Ultimate, back in 2015. In his 20th fight in the organization, he thanked them for their affection and said he will bring victory to Brazil.
“Thank you very much to the people who are rooting for me, supporting me and sending messages. They are such fans that they even find out the phone number (laughs). And on Saturday the 'animals will catch', you can count on me. I will tackle the problem and solve it. I will take this victory to Brazil, without a doubt”, he concluded.
Alex Cowboy is also looking for his rehabilitation in Ultimate. With a record of 22 wins and nine losses, the welterweight plans to return to the top-15 in the division. In his last fight, he was submitted by Uzbek Shavkat Rakhomonov in the UFC 254 in October 2020.
