Fired from UFC in early March, junior gypsy may be close to confirming its 'new home'. Former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) in Ultimate, the Brazilian is negotiating with Bellator and could debut in a superfight against the Russian legend, Fedor Emelianenko. The information was released by 'Tele Sport'.

It's nothing new that Bellator is looking for an opponent for Fedor to have a farewell fight with. Considered one of the best fighters of all time in MMA, the 44-year-old Russian has not performed since December 2019. The company's idea is to promote a big show, in Russia, so that the 'Last Emperor' can say goodbye to the sport, which he has been practicing for over 20 years.
Outside of Ultimate, Cigano, last week, confirmed to 'Ag.Fight' who welcomes a possible transfer to the company chaired by Scott Coker. The Brazilian's expectation is, in fact, to test himself against the Russian legend.
UFC champion between 2011 and 2012, the Santa Catarina native made history in the company as one of Brazil's greatest heavyweight representatives. In recent years, however, Júnior has not had a good time. The athlete's dismissal came after a sequence of four consecutive defeats – all by knockout.
At 37 years old, Cigano turned professional in MMA in 2006. In 30 commitments in the sport, the Santa Catarina native currently has 21 wins and nine losses.
PRIDE icon, Emelianenko has 46 appearances in mixed martial arts. The veteran boasts a record with 39 triumphs, six setbacks and one 'no result' fight. Throughout his career, the Russian beat names like Quinton jackson, Pedro Rizzo, Chael Sonnen, Mirko Cro Cop, Mark Hunt, Rodrigo Minotauro e Ricardo arona.
