“Let me tell you something. Even with everything that happened between us, Jones is not afraid of Ngannou. It's absurd for people to think that. I understand a lot of people would be scared, but he's not scared of guys like (Stipe) Miocic, (Derrick) Lewis or (Ciryl) Gane. Jon is not afraid of anyone,” he declared.

Cormier also analyzed the possible fight between Jones and Ngannou, for the heavyweight belt (up to 120,1kg). The UFC commentator stated that negotiations for big fights are always complicated and assured that 'Bones' is perfectly capable of defeating the current heavyweight champion.

“This is where the game between Jones and the UFC began: he wants money and Dana has options. That always happens. High-level negotiations are taking place. Jones thinks he will beat Ngannou. Every great champion is like this. I don't know if he will, but he's one of the most talented fighters I've ever seen in the Octagon. If there is anyone who can solve the puzzle that is Francis, it is Jones,” he concluded.DC'.

The rivalry between Jones and Cormier was one of the greatest in UFC history. The two athletes faced each other twice, both times for the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg). In the first, in 2015, 'Bones' by points. In the second fight, in 2017, Jon knocked out 'DC', however, the result became a 'No Contest' after the former champion tested positive for the substance Turinabol.

After dominating the 93kg division for more than ten years, Jones decided to seek a new challenge and decided to move up a category. Previously confirmed as the division's next challenger, 'Bones' was irritated by Dana's change of speech, after the UFC 260. The agent insinuated that the fighter should move to the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg) to avoid facing Ngannou. Statement that generated a lot of complaints from the veteran on social media.
