After watching the historic conquest of Francis Ngannou in the rush over Stipe Miocic, which occurred in UFC 260, the name of Jon Jones rose again. Provoked by the president of Ultimate after last Saturday's show (27), the North American clashed with his boss after the agent suggested that 'Bones' should fear the French-Cameroonian. On his social networks, the former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) minimized the enormous strength of his possible opponent and explained.

“I was faced with much faster knockout artists. I have a very resistant chin. Let's not forget 'fight IQ', wingspan, speed and distance. I’m not going to stand there like Stipe did,” Jon wrote, responding to a fan on ‘Twitter'.
Since August 2020, when he officially left the 93kg division, Jon has been physically preparing for his heavyweight debut (up to 120,2kg). A few months ago, the American was confirmed as the winner's opponent in the clash between Miocic and Ngannou, for the category title.
After UFC 260However, Dana seemed to be on the back foot when it came to the superfight. In the press conference after the show, the president did not rule out that 'Bones' could face Francis, but he mentioned the name of Derrick Lewis as an alternative to the French-Cameroonian's first title defense.
An absolute light heavyweight legend, Jones has not performed since February 2020. On that occasion, the fighter made what represented his last title defense in the division he dominated for around 10 years. After the triumph over the then undefeated Dominick reyes, the athlete decided to seek a new challenge.
Bro I've gotten out of the way from much faster punchers. And I have a pretty solid chin. Let's not forget fight IQ, reach, speed, distance. I'm not going to just stand there like stipe did. https://t.co/szqyJMtUjA
