The former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg.) TJ Dillashaw mocked aljamain sterling, after the North American won the title due to disqualification of Petr yan for an illegal knee. In a post on 'Twitter', the fighter stated that he was not impressed and classified the current belt holder's action as 'staged'.

“And the Oscar for Best Actor in a title fight goes to aljamain sterling. And Petr yan You need to take a course on the rules of the sport. Hey Petr, you are a cheater too,” he wrote TJ Dillashaw.
Quickly, aljamain sterling Dillashaw also made a point of responding. For him, his compatriot was a cheat and could not comment on the case.
“You cheated your entire UFC career and you have the nerve to call someone an actor? You lost your masculinity when you decided to inject yourself to compete. I hope Sandhagen finishes you off like he did in training,” Sterling responds.

Played on the main card of UFC 259, the fight between Petr yan e aljamain sterling heading into the fifth round. However, the Russian ended up delivering a strong knee to the American's head, who was kneeling on the ground. After a few minutes of recovery, Sterling did not return to the fight and received – after his opponent was disqualified – the division title.
